Learn more about Eric's career path since he left Ohio State and hear about an exciting internship opportunity that can be done remotely from Columbus! Students can drop-by 156 University Hall any time between 2pm and 4pm to chat with Eric.        Details about the Atlanta Tipoff Club Internship:        POSITION PURPOSE:    Provide social media project support for the Atlanta Tipoff Club (ATOC), a 501 c 3 non-profit organization. The ATOC was founded during the 1956-57 basketball season as a way for Atlantans to share a common bond: the love and enjoyment of basketball. The organization’s mission is to promote and expand the passion, tradition and heritage of basketball, and honor those who have achieved excellence and positively impacted the game both locally and nationally. The ATOC administers the Naismith Awards, presented annually to the most outstanding high school and college basketball players and coaches. The majority of this internship will center on Naismith Awards activation.        POSITION OVERVIEW:    This unpaid internship will run from August 1, 2019 through May 15, 2020. Candidate is expected to work a minimum of five (5) hours per week, although that may increase during peak periods. Candidates have the opportunity to earn college course credit, pending University approval. Internship work can be done remotely. Candidate does not need to reside in the Atlanta area.        RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:    - Social media management for Atlanta Tipoff Club and Naismith Awards programs:    - Generate timely and newsworthy content    - Follow content calendar and tone set by the ATOC    - Posts must be completed at least 14 days ahead of time on shared document (Google) to be approved by senior management    - Daily/Weekly posts on the Naismith Awards social media channels (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook and You Tube), following pre-set cadence    - Participate in conference calls (twice a month) and occasional in-person meetings    - If available, be onsite and conduct interviews with former winners at special events (annual golf tournament, Atlanta Hawks games, Final Four)    - Produce reports on social media statistics    - Within five days after months end a report must be generated totaling engagement and impressions per Naismith Award sponsor across all ATOC social mediums        NATURE AND SCOPE:    This position primarily will support the ATOC/Naismith Awards properties, with responsibilities ranging from social media to project management, event support, and public relations/media relations, where applicable, in conjunction with the property.        KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES:    Must be highly organized, creative and multi-task oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work effectively in a publicly-visible, high pressure and deadline oriented environment. Should possess a positive, energetic attitude and a knowledge and passion for sports, particularly basketball. Candidate should be familiar with the business of sports and how to work in a group environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel required.
