Development Academy: The World of Management Consulting, Session 2
Date: Friday, Feb. 14, 2020
Location: Journalism 353
Time: 2 to 4 p.m.
Host: ASC Career Success
Management consulting firms like Deloitte, McKinsey and Accenture continually reach-out to the Arts and Sciences Center for Career and Professional Success in the hopes of recruiting more Arts and Sciences students. Due to the depth and breadth of your education YOU, the Arts and Sciences major, are a hot commodity for these organizations. What we've found, however, is that many Arts and Sciences majors dismiss opportunities with management consulting firms because a) they feel they aren't qualified or b) they don't even know what consultants do.
This Arts and Sciences Development Academy, The World of Management Consulting, is designed specifically for you! Through this five-week academy you'll learn more about the field of management consulting directly from professionals in the field! You'll hear from a variety of professionals from such firms as McKinsey, Accenture, Front Health, Greystone and Deloitte.
Students are encouraged to attend all five sessions of the Development Academy but that is not a requirement. You may pick and choose which sessions to attend based on the topic, but do note that seating will be limited in each session. We do ask that students register separately for each session they are interested in.
Overview of Week #2: Friday, February 14
During week #2 of the academy students will go through a facilitated workshop on the popular StrengthsFinder tool. As part of this academy each student will receive the StrengthsFinder book and a unique code to complete the online StrengthsFinder inventory before week #2. A trained StrengthsFinder professional will then be with us on this date to help you understand your findings.
