Join the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD) for their annual open house! Tour one of the first computer graphics centers in the world, meet our researchers and interact with virtual reality (VR) demos. ACCAD just completed building a virtual reality program to help first responders simulate triage during disasters, which better prepares medical personnel for these real-world situations.
The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments are also included.
2023 ACCAD demos will include video installations, virtual reality experiences and motion capture projects that create immersive art projects, mixed-reality games and immersive musical performances. Graduate students, faculty and staff will be on hand to answer questions and guide visitors through the space.
