Harding Symposium is an academic, social, and cultural exploration of the life and times of America's 29th president. The Symposium presents in-depth analysis and research by authors, historians, researchers and experts on the Harding Era and related areas of interest. The theme of the 2023 Warren G. Harding Symposium is Through the Photographer’s Lens: Exploring the United States Presidency. The event will explore the unique history of presidential photography in our country. EVENT DETAILS The event will explore presidential photography from someone who had an insider’s view of two Presidents of the United States from different political parties. The featured presenter will be Pete Souza, former Chief Official White House Photographer for President Barack Obama and former Official White House Photographer for President Ronald Reagan. Souza has spent more time in the Oval Office than almost any person in history. During the Obama administration alone, he was inside the presidential bubble for more than 25,000 hours and made nearly two million photographs.
