Alice Conklin, Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of History, will inaugurate the International History Seminar series with a presentation on "The First Universal Races Congress in 1911 London and the Global Problem of Race Relations."

The International History Seminar (IHS), a collaboration of the Department of History and the Mershon Center for International Security Studies, aims to foster intellectual discourse in international history and its subfields. Co-convened by Christopher McKnight Nichols and Lydia Walker, the IHS offers faculty and graduate students a curated platform to engage with leading scholars through in-person, workshop-like discussions. Aiming for three meetings per semester, the series aims to be a cornerstone in the academic community, showcasing pioneering research while fostering interdisciplinary engagement.
