Event Host: School of Music
The annual spring concerto concert spotlights undergraduate and master student winners of the School of Music Concerto Competition held in December. Also, the orchestra presents the world premiere performance of a "A Cabin in the Forest – A Symphony Movement" by Shuo Shen, a DMA student in composition.
Solo performers and selections are Valeriya Nedviga, violin, Camille Saint-Saëns' Introduction et Rondo Capriccioso; Thomas Petrushka, baritone, Verdi's "Il lacerato spirito" from Simon Boccanegra; Michael Rueda, Eugene Goossens' Oboe Concerto; Caitlyn Trevor, Édouard Lalo's Cello Concerto in D Minor (I); Lin Ye, Franz Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 1 in Eb Major (I); Matthew Zatko, baritone, Mozart's "Hai gia vinta la causa...Vedro mentr'io sospiro" from Le Nozze di Figaro; Sam Zelnik, Haydn's Oboe Concerto in C Major (I).
