Join the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Music on Sunday, Oct. 23, for the Timashev Family Music Building dedication and celebration of the university’s growing Arts District. The Timashev Family Music Building, named in recognition of the generosity of the Timashev Family, brings together all music education and instruction under one roof and welcomes the community to campus through world-class performances and events.

Timashev Family Music Building*
All of Buckeye Nation is invited to gather outside at the south entrance to the School of Music (nearest the Oval) as the Timashev Family Music Building is officially dedicated. Remarks by distinguished university officials and guests as well as music by our own Ohio State University Marching Band will help officially launch the facility’s highly anticipated legacy as a world-class facility for music education, research and performance.
*This is an outdoor event and one in which those gathered will stand. In the event of inclement weather, the dedication will take place in Weigel Auditorium.
School of Music Open House

Timashev Family Music Building
The School of Music will be in full swing during this unique open house event. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through the beautiful new rehearsal rooms, performance spaces, classrooms, studios, offices and meeting spaces that make up the Timashev Family Music Building. Ensembles will be rehearsing, faculty will be teaching, students will be practicing and joy will be emanating from almost every corner of the facility. Refreshments and the opportunity for creating and renewing friendships will abound!
Dedication Weekend Concert
3-4:30 p.m.
Mershon Auditorium
This free performance will feature world-premiere performances by our Symphony Orchestra, Choral Program, Jazz Ensemble and Wind Symphony. In honor of this next era in the rich history of our School of Music, four new compositions were commissioned to celebrate the opening of the Timashev Family Music Building.
No tickets are required, and all are welcome to join us for this concert that concludes the weekend’s celebration.

Due to the Timashev Family Music Building Dedication and Celebration on Sunday, October 23, College Rd. will be closed just south of Annie and John Glenn Ave. (in front of Hughes Hall), continuing south to the Ohio Union South Garage.
Timashev Family Music Building and the Arps Garage will be inaccessible from the south on College Rd.
For this event, we recommend that you park in Arps Garage. Accessible from College Rd. or from 18th Ave. off of High Street. As a courtesy to our visitors, event parking will be available at the garage entrance for $10. Exact change is appreciated.
The Arps Garage is a short walk to the Timashev Family Music Building.
In the event that a guest requires drop-off closer to the building, we recommend that you turn south onto College Rd. from Woodruff Ave., then turn right (west) onto Annie and John Glenn Ave. There is a parking lot on your right where you may drop off. If traveling east on Annie and John Glenn, there are short-term parking spaces at the corner of Annie and John Glenn Ave. and College Rd.
