For many people of color in South America, the colonial independence movements offered anything but liberation. On Friday April 5 at 3 p.m. in Dulles 168, Yale scholar Marcela Echeverri Munoz will discuss why many Native Americans and enslaved Africans chose to support royal forces during the Age of Revolution. Her talk is co-sponsored by the Center for Latin American Studies and the Center for Historical Research.

This event is free and open to the public, no ticket required.
