Faculty Club Alumni Art Exhibition: Maria Alejandra Zanetta

Wed, August 27 - Fri, October 31, 2014
All Day
181 South Oval Drive

Event Host: The Ohio State University Faculty Club

Artist and Professor Maria Alejandra Zanetta will exhibit her latest linoleum cuts and collages at The Ohio State University Faculty Club in an exhibition titled “New Works.” The exhibit will include innovative works of print-making and collage on paper.

Zanetta’s recent works are an exploration of texture, color, rhythm and movement. They have an uncommon depth and vitality derived from the layering of underlying collage materials combined with the overlay of bold linoleum block prints. Although formally trained as a painter, her collage-prints explore her interest in the print-making process, especially woodcuts and linoleum cuts. While some pieces in the exhibition contain a similar printed image, when paired with different collages and color themes, each one becomes a unique and compelling work in its own right.

Maria Alejandra Zanetta is an alumna of The Ohio State University, having earned a Master’s Degree in Spanish and Spanish American Literature and a Doctorate in Comparative Studies in Literature and Art.

An opening reception will be held on Friday, September 12, 6 p.m., The Ohio State University Faculty Club.  Please call (614) 292-2262 or email the club for more information or to RSVP.
