We made you an 8-layer casserole, and while we can’t give you the recipe, we got a one-dish delicacy with flavors of friendship and family and ooey-gooey bubbling cheesy feelings schmeelings. It’s been sitting in the refrigerator overnight, all the looking and the softness together, getting acquainted with starchy encounters and reconciliations. There are corner pieces for everybody. Eight disparate flavors trudging and wading in a hotdish, burnt around the edges. Lumpy — made in mourning with love. Save room for seconds.
A reception for the exhibition will be held on Saturday, August 21 from 5-6 p.m. at Hopkins Hall Gallery.
