Chicago Alumni Attend Lichtenstein Exhibition
More than 70 alumni and friends joined the College of Arts and Sciences and the Ohio State Alumni Club of Chicago on May 17 to celebrate an exhibition of distinguished alumnus, Roy Lichtenstein – the first since his death -- at Roy Lichtenstein: A Retrospective at the Art Institute of Chicago.
The exhibition was introduced by alumnus Mark Pascale, curator in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Art Institute. Pascale informed the group about how Lichtenstein acknowledged his Ohio State mentor, Hoyt Sherman, throughout his career. Pascale accompanied guests into the exhibition where he provided additional insights into the artist’s works. Pascale was introduced by Sergio Soave, chair of the Department of Art, who also updated alumni on the happenings in the arts at Ohio State, including the complete renovation of Hopkins Hall and the creation of the Arts District.
