Earth Sciences Professor Ralph von Frese leads a group of researchers who have discovered a new tool for detecting illegal nuclear explosions: the Earth’s global positioning system (GPS). The work was unveiled at the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) meeting this week.
