Side by Side by Mozart and Sondheim

The Ohio State University School of Music presents Side by Side by Mozart and Sondheim, a lyric theatre scenes program, at 8 pm Saturday, November 12, in Thurber Theatre, Drake Performance and Event Center, 1849 Cannon Dr. The performance is directed by A. Scott Parry, director in residence, who will also return to Ohio State in the spring to direct Verdi's Falstaff.

The November 12 program will bring together a wide variety of works from these two pillars of music drama, including scenes from Die Zauberflöte, A Little Night Music, Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni, Passion, La clemenza di Tito, Candide, and Idomeneo.

The audience-accessible program will feature all scenes performed in their original language with English supertitles projected above the stage. The 21-student cast will be accompanied by collaborative pianists Edward Bak, Ryan Behan, and Christina Haan.
