Special Assistant for Facilities and Planning

Sergio Soave

Sergio Soave has been appointed as an administrative faculty fellow in the college, serving as Special Assistant for Facilities and Planning. In this half-time role, he will provide guidance to the executive dean and the divisional deans regarding the effective and strategic use of space for research and teaching. This replaces the associate executive dean role previously held by Rich Hall.

The Special Assistant for Facilities and Planning will work with department chairs and ASC offices to assess space needs; help negotiate shared space between units; support capital planning; represent the college and coordinate with Facilities Operation and Development and Physical Planning and Real Estate; and provide guidance to the Chief Information Officer and other college leaders regarding infrastructure. This position will also work closely with college staff who assist with space management and provide oversight to OSHA coordinators.

In addition to serving from 2005-2012 as the chair of the Department of Art, Soave has experience in strategic planning and supervising the planning and use of facilities and has overseen three major renovations and building projects.

Soaveā€™s appointment as faculty fellow will begin with the start of spring semester, January 11, and continue through the summer of 2016.
