Short Description: Diana Martha Louis is an Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies and American Studies at University of Michigan. She earned a B.A in English and Africana Studies, with a minor in Education from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in English from Emory University.


Diana Martha Louis is an Assistant Professor of Women’s Studies and American Studies at University of Michigan. She earned a B.A in English and Africana Studies, with a minor in Education from Cornell University, and a Ph.D. in English from Emory University. From 2014 to 2016, Louis was a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Research on Race and Ethnicity in Society (CRRES) and Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of African and African Diaspora Studies at Indiana University. Her research pursues the intersections of Disability Studies and Critical Race Studies with respect to issues of mental illness in African American life.
