Time: 12 to 3 p.m.
Event Host: Genome Writers Guild

What is genome engineering? A special event for the science curious.

What is Genome Engineering? Where is it used? How do we benefit from it? Why should we care? We are exposed to terms like GMOs, genetic therapies, and gene editing. But what are these? Genome Engineer, Dr. Aron Geurts from the Medical College of Wisconsin and Dr. Juan Alfonzo, director of the Ohio State University Center for RNA Biology, will be addressing these questions. Afterwards, a forum style question and answer session will be held to help clarify any questions that may remain.

The event is free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome! This event is designed for a general audience to explain what these technologies are and how they are already playing a part in our lives. Coffee and refreshments will be served.
