ASC Student Helping Find Cure for Cancer

Breonna Slocum, an undergraduate majoring in microbiology and Spanish, is just one of the many arts and sciences students whose cancer research is supported by a Pelotonia fellowship. Slocum is working to establish the link between Pax transcription factors and Acyl-CoA synthetase in cancer biology. “This work is important because if we can better understand how cancer cells divide and grow, we can target the genes responsible and eventually lead to a cure for cancer.”

Pelotonia Fellowships are funded directly by donations to riders in Pelotonia, which this year will be August 10-12. Support this year’s Team ASC and Team Buckeye. Contact Terry Bradley at Bradley.77@osu.edu
