Arts and Sciences is proud to announce the winners of the 2010 Rodica C. Botoman Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring in the College of Humanities and the 2010 Paul W. Brown Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring in the Departments of English and History.

Professor Janice Aski, Department of French and Italian, is the recipient of the 2010 Rodica C. Botoman Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring in the College of Humanities, a $5,000 award.

Professor Christopher Otter, Department of History, is the recipient of the 2010 Paul W. Brown Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring in the Departments of English and History, a $1,000 award.

The Rodica C. Brown Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring in the College of Humanities was established by the Board of Trustees of The Ohio State University in accordance with the guidelines approved by the Board of Directors of The Ohio State University Foundation, with gifts from Mr. Ben M. Jones III, a former Columbus businessman, Dr. V. Alin Botoman, son of George and Rodica Botoman, and George and Rodica Botoman.

The 2010 Paul W. Brown Award for Distinguished Undergraduate Teaching and Mentoring in the Departments of English and History was established through the generosity of Susan E. Brown (BA, History, 1968) in memory of her father, Paul W. Brown (BA, English, 1937). Both awards are given to a Humanities faculty member who best exemplifies excellence as a teacher of undergraduates.

These awards will be formally presented at the Arts and Humanities Fall Faculty Reception on Monday, October 25, in the Blackwell Inn.
