The College of Arts and Sciences and the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) signed a Memorandum of Agreement to collaborate in the STINT Foundation’s Programme for Excellence in Teaching during the period October 2010 – January 2012. The agreement was signed by Joe Steinmetz, executive dean and vice provost, College of Arts and Sciences and Andreas Göthenberg, executive director of the STINT Foundation.

STINT's mandate is to internationalize Swedish higher education and research. A Swedish faculty member, named the STINT Fellow, will spend a full fall semester at Ohio State. The STINT Fellows are expected to teach or co-teach, a discipline close to their own, as well as engage in research. The Arts and Sciences academic departments participating in the STINT program include, but are not limited to: Department of Art Education, Department of East Asian Languages and Literatures, Department of Germanic Languages and Literatures, Department of Geography, Department of History, Department Slavic and East European Languages and Literatures, and the Department of Sociology.
