Henri Cole Inducted into American Academy of Arts and Sciences
Henri Cole, professor, English, was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences on Saturday, October 9.
Cole is the author of seven books of poetry: Pierce the Skin: Selected Poems 1982-2007, Blackbird and Wolf, Middle Earth (a finalist for the Pulitzer), The Visible Man , The Look of Things, The Zoo Wheel of Knowledge, and The Marble Queen. He is the winner of the Lenore Marshall Poetry Award, the Ambassador Book Award in Poetry, the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Berlin Prize, the United States Artist Fellowship, the Rome Prize in Literature from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships. He has also published collections in Spanish, French, and Italian.
