The Lantern newsroom will be open starting at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 22 for anyone who’d like to see their current facilities. Editors will be on hand throughout the day to greet guests. Starting at 3 p.m. guest will be able to tour the new spaces the newsroom will moving into, those will open at 3 p.m. Finally, at 5 p.m., the weekly editors meeting will be taking place and all are welcome to sit in for that. The Lantern is located in the Journalism Building, 242 W. 18th Ave. Columbus OH, 43210.

Lantern Cartoonists Open House at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum

Thursday, September 22, 3-5 p.m.
1813 N. High Street – Sullivant Hall, north side – Lucy Shelton Caswell Reading Room

The Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum (BICLM) welcomes attendees to view a display of original art by former Lantern cartoonists and Ohio State alum in our Lucy Shelton Caswell Reading Room. BICLM is the world’s largest collection of comics and cartoon art, and one of the gems of Ohio State’s campus. Our museum on the 2nd floor will also be open, featuring our current exhibits STILL… Racism in America: A Retrospective in Cartoons by Brumsic Brandon Jr. and Barbara Brandon-Croft and Celebrating Sparky: Charles M. Schulz and Peanuts.

At 4pm, a book sale and signing will take place in our lobby with Derf Backderf (My Friend Dahmer, Trashed, The City), and Brian Basset (Red and Rover).
