VIRTUAL OPTIONS: Launch Your Career: Gap Year or Grad School?

Due to the University's proactive response to COVID-19, we are exploring VIRTUAL options for each session in this event. Please register for any event you're interested in on Handshake to receive updates about each specific event.

Launch Your Career: Next Step: Gap Year or Grad School is a 1 day gap year and graduate school preparation conference for students in the College of Arts and Sciences.

Students who attend the career conference will have an opportunity to select from a variety of career-oriented workshops that include how to finance graduate school, techniques for application preparation and timeline, engaging in diverse networking with current graduate students, alumni and industry professionals and discovering gap year, abroad, research and teaching opportunities.  Students are encouraged to attend as few as one session, or as many as all of them.  Pick and choose your own adventure.
 

Sessions include:

• CANCELED Diversity Networking Brunch

  • 8:30 to 10 a.m., Ohio Union, Interfaith Prayer and Reflection Room
  • Connect with recruiters and employers to learn how companies are incorporating and engaging diversity in their work culture.

• VIRTUAL Gap Year Service Opportunities

  • This Event is Now Being Offered Virtually - Join Us From Wherever You Are!
  • Looking for Gap Year opportunities that will help you serve communities in need, grow your skills, and work as a team to accomplish goals? Plan to attend this session to learn about AmeriCorps, City Year, and other service-oriented opportunities. Representatives from local, national and international service organizations will be in attendance to speak about options for engaging in service, describe the application and interview process and share the benefits of participating in direct service programs.   • This Event is Now Being Offered Virtually from 2:30 to 4 p.m.  Join Us From Wherever You Are!

  • The Ohio State University GAP-Year Opportunities event is focused on helping you find a one or two year opportunity to fill that GAP! The event is open to all current Ohio State University students and recent graduates and provides an opportunity for students to network with employers and learn about GAP-Year opportunities.
