Caldeira named chair of the Department of Political Science
Gregory Caldeira, Distinguished University Professor and Dreher Chair in Political Communication and Policy Thinking, was named chair of the Department of Political Science, effective July 1, 2019 (pending approval by the Board of Trustees) through June 30, 2023.
Caldeira, who is also a professor in the Moritz College of Law, specializes in law and judicial politics, American political institutions and development, and comparative law and courts. He has been a faculty of the Department of Political Science since 1987.
Caldeira had previously served as faculty in the Department of Political Science at the University of Iowa. He received his AM and PhD in politics from Princeton University.
