Eugene Weigel Memorial Scholarship for Music Education

I am in my fifth year at Ohio State, and I study music education. Though I had the chance to graduate in the traditional four years, I decided to extend my time here to pursue educational opportunities that would better prepare me to be an effective educator for my future students. Outside of participating in the Ohio State Wind Symphony and the Percussion Studio, I am also a head squad leader in The Ohio State University Marching Band.

In the future, I plan to become a high school band director, with the possibility of pursuing my master’s and doctorate in conducting to become a collegiate band director.

As a member of the Ohio State Marching Band, I recognize the significance of Eugene Weigel’s name and his impact on the marching band and the School of Music as a whole. I am incredibly honored to be associated with his name in this way."
