Science Sundays, the College of Arts and Sciences’ flagship lecture series, will return on Sept. 13 for eight free public science lectures covering a wide range of current and emerging topics in science that touch our everyday lives. Speakers are experts in their fields both on campus and around the world with experience in making their topics interesting and accessible to audiences of all ages, with or without a science background. 

Now in its 14^th year, the series is celebrating its success with a move to a larger venue at Ohio State’s Fawcett Event Center, as well as adding reception programming to help attendees connect more with the scientists in attendance. 

“We realized that we needed more space as our events have grown, and moving the series to the Fawcett Center allows us to host almost 500 guests per lecture,” said John Beacom, Science Sundays committee chair and College of Arts and Sciences Distinguished Professor of Physics and of Astronomy. “The expanded reception space also gives us the opportunity to invite additional faculty, staff and students to share their science with our attendees, whether that’s through a poster session or through hands-on activities for kids and adults alike.”

 While lecture topics and speakers are still being finalized, 2026-2027 Science Sundays events will be held on the following dates:

• Dec. 13, 2026
• Jan. 10, 2027
• Feb. 7, 2027
• March 7, 2027
• April 11, 2027

The Fawcett Event Center is located at 2400 Olentangy River Road in Columbus. In addition to free parking, bus service to the venue is available via COTA line 1.
